Dear Colleagues,
Please find below more information about a RFP launched by the Urban
Redevelopment Authority of Singapore.

The Rail Corridor is a former railway line that stretches for 24 km from
the north of Singapore near its border with our neighboring country Malaysia to the south of the country, terminating at an old train
terminus located at the edge of our Central Business District. This railway line is no longer in use since July 2011. Our plan now is to transform the Rail Corridor into an extraordinary and endearing leisure and community space. The URA plans to launch a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a Master Planning and Design Consultancy for the Rail Corridor very shortly.
In general, the RFP will require design firms to prepare concept proposals to develop a Master Plan for the Rail Corridor. They will also be required to prepare schematic designs for selected locations and activity areas along the Corridor. In addition, we will also be requiring schematic proposals for the adaptive re-use of former railway buildings which are now considered heritage buildings along the Rail Corridor.
Given the scale and significance of the Rail Corridor project, we expect
the RFP may attract interest and participation from many architectural
and landscape architectural firms. As not many firms outside Singapore
would have heard of the Rail Corridor, we are organizing a series of
pre-RFP visit to the site on 3, 4 & 6 March 2015. A brief write-up of the Rail Corridor Project and the impending RFP is attached. Firms who are interested in the project and the site visit can contact us for more
details. Our contact email addresses are also provided in the document.
General information on the Rail Corridor can be accessed on this link:
